Geraldine Crighton

March 14, 1927 — May 9, 2017

Geraldine H. Crighton, a longtime resident of Idaho Falls, ID passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Morningstar Assisted Living. She was born to James Benjamin and Mae Dunston Halford in 1927, the younger of two daughters. Raised in Butte Montana throughout her teen years, she attended Butte High School and later graduated from Montana State College where she met and later married John M. Crighton in June of 1949. Seeking employment they settled in Idaho Falls, ID in 1957. After receiving her Idaho State teaching certificate in 1962 she taught 7th grade English at Clair E. Gale Jr. High School until her retirement in 1987. She was a life member and previous Worthy Matron of Chapter 85, Order of the Eastern Star and was an active member of various professional teaching organizations such as the NEA, IEA and PTO.
Geraldine is survived by her two sons, Marc J. Crighton of Orlando, Florida, Hal G. Crighton and daughter-in-law Bell Crighton of Idaho Falls, ID, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband John M. Crighton, her son John Robin Crighton and sister, Zeyune Ricker.
A memorial service will be held in Geraldine's honor Friday May 19th at 10:00 AM at the Trinity United Methodist church in Idaho Falls, ID. In-lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Shriner's Hospital, 1275 E. Fairfax Rd., Salt Lake City, UT 84103. Online condolences may be left at www.buckmillerhann.com.
