Sheryl Elaine Kautz

December 18, 1943 — November 1, 2014

Sherri was born Dec. 18, 1943, in Filer, Idaho, to James Floyd and Nellie Martin. She was the third of 11 children. Sherri studied nursing in San Mateo. She fell in love with Jim Connelly and together they had three children. Sherri worked as a respiratory therapist. After his death, Sherri made a visit to Idaho in 1976 to see her sister and Idaho became her home. She became a huge part of the music scene playing bass guitar. She met Lyle Dickinson and together they raised two more daughters. Sherri was an avid reader and enjoyed watching football, especially the San Francisco 49ers and the BSU Broncos. She also loved a good glass of tea.
Sherri will be remembered for her strength, honesty and wit. She was fiercely loyal and took great pride in her children, willing to do anything for them. She found immense joy in her 10 grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. Sherri is so loved and will be greatly missed by many, including her children, James "Buddy" Martin of California, Karen (Connelly) Armantrout of Indiana, Stacy Connelly of Boise, Bill Connelly of Payette, Robin (Dickinson) Cozakos of Meridian, Teresa Dickinson of Oregon, and Bo and LisaAnn Riddick of Ontario; her grandchildren, Angela Martin, Doug and Kristin Armantrout, Zach and Carter Cozakos, Devon Dickinson, Eric and Madison DiSantis, and Mario and Avery Riddick; and her great-granddaughter, Kylie. She is also survived by her sisters, Lisa Patterson of Weiser, Leslie Nelson of Washington, Kelli Herbert of Eagle, and Carol "Pinky" Brown of Weiser; her brothers, Jim Davis of Washington and Ed Davis; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Sherri was preceded in death by her parents James Floyd and Nellie Martin; Jim Connelly, Lyle Dickinson; as well as two sisters, Shirley Jones and Sandy Lee; and two brothers, Dean Davis and David Hudson. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity in her name, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, PO Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.Sheryl Elaine Kautz, 70, died at her home in Payette Nov. 1, 2014. A memorial service will be Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, 112 N. 9th St., Payette.
