Velma Hale Whitaker

October 16, 1923 — January 27, 2015

Velma Hale Whitaker passed peacefully in her sleep sometime Tuesday morning, January 27th 2015 at the home of her daughter, Vineta Graybill, in Boise Idaho. She was 91. Velma was born October 16th 1923 in Twin Falls, to her father Ursel Aroet Hale and mother Edna Alice Poulton Hale. She married her lifetime companion, Donald Wilson Whitaker, on August 17th 1941 in Twin Falls, and raised their family there.
Our Mom was a devoted wife and loving mother. She always put her family first. She was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. She held many positions throughout her life. She loved to sew, quilt, and crochet. She loved flowers and her vegetable garden. She will be greatly missed. Velma is survived by two sons, Donald Wilson (Sharol) Whitaker Jr., Idaho Falls; Allan James (Judy) Whitaker, Katy, Texas; and three daughters, Velma Jean (Ralph deceased) Savage, Provo, Utah; Nadean (David) Smith, Jerome; Vineta (Denis) Graybill, Boise; Three brothers Jess Edward Hale, Timothy Ursel Hale, Thomas Wesley Hale, and one sister, Melba Heiner. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 667 Harrison St., Twin Falls with a viewing an hour prior at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Sunset Cemetery in Twin Falls.
Arrangements under the direction of White Mortuary and Crematory, Twin Falls, ID.
