Bert O'Shea-Smith, longtime resident of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away at his home Wednesday, October 25, 2017. He was 45 years old.
Born to Nancy Smith in Pensacola, Florida in 1972. When Bert was very young, Nancy married Chris O'Shea and with his two brothers the family located to Saudi Arabia from 1978 to 1982. After returning to the US and graduating from high school he then enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a Hospital Corpsman with the US Marine Corps. He served in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Okinawa Island, Whidbey Island, Washington, Hawaii, San Diego and Haiti.
After serving six years in the military he enrolled in Motorcycle Mechanics Institute of Orlando Florida where he received his degree in small engine mechanics. He then moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. While in Colorado he married his first wife Gaynor and together they had two beautiful daughters. They eventually moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where they later divorced. He spent 13 years with Nicole Ramirez of Idaho Falls Idaho, and two years ago while watching "The Big Bang Theory", Bert said "should we get married?", and Nicole said "YES!". Together they had another beautiful daughter.
Bert was a loving, kind, and supporting Husband, Son, Papa and Friend, who was a very compassionate mentor to anyone who needed some comfort in their lives. Throughout his life he enjoyed motorcycles, surfing, skateboarding, and installing car stereo systems.
He worked at Grand Teton Service Group along with his trusted dog Axel. They enjoyed going to work together.
He is preceded in death by his loving Gammer (grandma) Catherine Marie Smith.
Bert is survived by his wife Nicole, his daughters SheaLeigh, Deeghan, Kyra, their dog Axel, his mother Nancy Smith-O'Shea, his father Chris O'Shea, his brothers Evan and Heath, his grandpa Leslie Smith, his mother-in-law Isabel Zamora, two brothers-in-law Jason and Paco, a sister-in-law Mimi, several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
A celebration of Life will be held in Bert's honor Wednesday, November 1, 2017 open house will start at 12:00 pm with Military Honors at 2:00 pm at Bert and Nicole's home in Idaho Falls.
