Allen Charles Jorgensen

Our beloved father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully of natural causes October 20, 2014 in his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Allen was born December 24, 1955, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He attended schools in Idaho Falls where he excelled in basketball. He married the love of his life Kathleen Kay Shawver on June 18, 1977. To this union were born two beautiful children Sara and Jacob. Allen was widowed Nov. 20, 1999 and never remarried. Allen was a loyal husband, father and grandfather who dedicated his life to his family. His words of wisdom and infinite support will be greatly missed. He was an accomplished electrician. He worked at the INEL for over 30 years. He retired last month and was looking forward to completing the restoration of his '67 Pontiac Firebird. He spent many treasured hours on the golf course with his son and was an avid outdoors man. His passions were fishing, cooking, and handyman jobs. He enjoyed spending his Sunday afternoons following his beloved Chargers and many an October evening following a Yankee run for the pennant. He enthusiastically planned and hosted a beautiful Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for his family which was the highlight of the holiday season. Allen is survived by his daughter Sara (Javier) Rodriguez; grandchildren Sierra, Isaiah, and Raquel; significant other Michelle Novak. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Jorgensen; son Jacob Jorgensen. Private family services will be held at a later date.
