Anita Strahan, 84, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at Rivers Edge Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Anita Marie Ivey was born on Aug. 25, 1929 in Seminole, Okla., to Robert and Katie Ivey. She married Morris Odam Strahan on Aug. 17, 1948, in Modesto, Calif. Anita and Morris had five daughters and moved from California to Idaho in 1974. Anita was a homemaker but worked outside the home occasionally. She loved spending time with her family and developed strong bonds with her children and grandchildren who miss her deeply. Anita also made many friends in the community and at the care center and was loving and enjoyable to be with. Her friend, Mary M., was an especially good friend and important part of her life. Anita is survived by her five daughters, Susan McCleskey (Dell), Nancy Hart, Bonnie Shaul (Bert), Laura Agenbroad (Dennis) and Teresa Ussery (Larry) and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her five children, Anita has 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Three of Anita's 12 siblings are still living, Ray Ivey, Velma Anson and Jean Keener. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Katie Ivey and her husband Morris Strahan. Final arrangements are with Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel.
