Artemio (best known as Memo) Hernandez, age 58 of Monteview, Idaho, passed away late Monday night, February 3, 2014 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Born November 20, 1955, in Rio Verde San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He was the son of Gertrudis Hernandez and the late Abundia (Mares) Hernandez.
Memo was a dedicated farmer for Newman Farms in Monteview, Idaho for more than 30 years. He enjoyed watching cowboy movies. His family and grandchildren were his passion. In his spare time, he enjoyed long walks with his metal detector in search of treasures, fishing, barbequing, working on his vehicles, and causing a ruckus while at work. He especially loved playing with all of his grandchildren and making the best out of every situation by making you smile and laugh. Memo is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Maria Carmen Hernandez, along with their four children; Melissa, Oscar, David and Carolina Hernandez of Monteview, Idaho. Along with his grandchildren: Orlando, Edwin, LaTaya, David, Noah, and Roney and his brothers: Isabel, Roberto, Carlos and sister Guadalupe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February, 7, 2014, at the Monteview LDS Ward Chapel, 2413 N. 800 E. in Monteview, with President Lane Newman, officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral on Friday both at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
