Arvella Hansen

Arvella S. Hansen (Bilkey) was born October 07, 1927 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack B. Hansen and a son John Michael Hansen. She leaves behind two sons, Allen Hansen and Joe Hansen both of Arizona. Also, three granddaughters Amy Jo Lang, Nicole Lee Harris and Cierra Jade Hansen and four great grandchildren, Kassandra and Morgan Lang and Brady and Jack Harris. Also many relatives from the Bilkey, Allen and Hansen clans. Early in her life she was a runner and track star in Poplar Bluff, MO. In 1947 she married Jack Hansen, where the two kept their vows for 63 years. Enjoying life as it came they moved to Idaho in 1947. While in Pocatello she gave birth to 3 boys, Mike, Allen and Joe. In 1968 they began farming in Shelley, ID where Arvella worked in the potato industry for many years. During this time Arvella developed a love for bowling and was a card carrying member of the 600 club. In 1979 they retired and sold the farm. They moved to North Fork on the Salmon River. They spent many days fishing, hunting and being with family and friends. She was especially fond of Steel Head fishing and held the title of a 4-in-one day record. They later moved to Swan Valley, Id to reside in the summer and then to Prescott Valley, AZ in the winter. They sold the Swan Valley home and moved to Prescott AZ to be closer to the boys. Later residing year round in Bagdad with Joe. Arvella quietly passesed away after struggling with health problems for the past 4 years. She is now with her Maker, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 Friday, July 1, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on the corner of 9th and Lee in Idaho Falls, with Father Jairo Restrepo, celebrant. Burial will be Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls. A Rosary will be recited from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday with a visitation following from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls.Arvella Hansen, 83 died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the Crossing Hospice Family Care Center in Prescott, Az.
