Audrey Lynn (Brush) Koeppen, 81, of Fruitland, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2011 at St. Alphonsus Medical Center - Ontario. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday September 6, 2011 at Riverside Cemetery Payette, Idaho. Pastor Tomm Lemmon will officiate. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.
She was born in Kane, PA on 6-25-1930 to Robert and Genevieve (Couch) Brush.
She graduated from Kane High School in Kane PA, 1948. She graduated from Clearfield Nursing School with her sister Suzanne. In 1957 encountered a sailor on shore patrol, the one she was looking for and was married to David Emery Koeppen in Jan. 15, 1958. After 20 years in the Navy they retired, they moved to Idaho living in Fruitland. Audrey had a long career as an RN, working at the Jefferson Medical College Hospital in Philadelphia from 1954-1962. She was a homemaker until 1974 and then resumed her career at Casa Loma Care Center Payette Id from 1974 until 1994. Audrey gave her life in serving others including the tender care of her patients whom she loved. She sponsored two children through the Christian Children's Fund. She loved the Lord with all her heart. In her retirement years she did volunteer reading for the students at Payette Christian Academy, along with conducting Bible studies with the residents of Meadow Brook Place. Her courage and determination has been an inspiration to us all. She had a giving heart, setting aside all selfishness in giving time and resources to others. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. We will miss our loving wife, mother, and grandmother and all the kindness she showed to us all.
Audrey is survived by her husband David Koeppen of Fruitland, ID; has one daughter, Lisa Sanders, son in law Rob Sanders and five grandchildren, Danielle, Jessica, Rebecca, Michael, and Rachael who live in Fruitland, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her Father Forest Hinkley Brush, Mother Genevieve (Couch) Brush, Sister Myra Suzanne Brush, Brother Robert Brush.
Her family would like to express gratitude to the faithful friends and church members who comforted her over years and to physicians and nursing staff of St. Al's Cancer Care Center Boise/Caldwell, St. Alphonsus Medical Center Ontario for care given to her and to Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel for their assistance in with her services.
