B. Mae Gehrke

B. Mae Gehrke passed away June 7, 2013 in Payette, ID. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 11th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Mae's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Mae was born to Burt and Caroline Gray on June 25, 1912 in Challis, ID. She moved with her parents as a young girl to Fruitland, ID, where she attended school and graduated in 1931. She went on to attend nursing school in Long Beach, CA, moving back to the Payette area. She married Henry "Hank" Gehrke on March 19, 1942. They made their home in Payette. Mae had three passions in life: cultivating roses, playing bridge earning points towards her Master of Bridge, and fun trips to Jackpot, NV. She taught her grandchildren to play poker. She also enjoyed fishing and going on long drives. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth E. Baskett of Payette; grandchildren, Pamela Baskett of Purdy, MO, Terry (Gail) Baskett of Payette, Greg (Sandy) Baskett of Payette; six great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
