Barbara J. Egner died on February 20, 2012 at the age of 75 with her family by her side in Twin Falls, Idaho. Barbara was born in San Francisco, California on February 16, 1937 to William and Dorothy (Herrin) Mann. She graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart and continued on with her education in San Francisco at Loan Mountain College.
Barbara was married for 54 years to Rockie Egner. They raised their family in California then moved to Idaho in 1982. She worked as a dietary supervisor at a hospital in California and was a homemaker. Barbara was also a foster mother for 20 years, caring for about 35 children. She was also actively involved in many community organizations including Filer Kiwanis Club for many years. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Rockie Egner; her two sons Rick Egner (Julie) and Randy Egner, and her two daughters Kimberley Cruz Marks (Bernie) and Laura Egner, as well as adopted three children Irene Egner, Paul Egner, and Ryan Egner.; her grandchildren Zachary Cruz, Michael Egner (Emma), Amanda VanLeeuwen (Jason), Megan Tapley (Robert), Emily Cruz, Daniel Egner (Cherylyn), Bryson Marks, Allison Cruz, Carson Marks, and April Summer; great-grandchildren Alicia, Arimiah and Dareyan Egner, Madison and Colton VanLeeuwen, Kaiden and Blake Tapley and one on the way; and her two sisters; Diana Henley (N.T.) and Mary Louise Stein (William). She was preceded in death by her son Scott Allen Egner and son-in-law Philip M. Cruz.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing that will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm on Friday, February 24, 2012 as well as the rosary Friday at 7:00 pm at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, 136 4th Ave East, Twin Falls. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 161 6th Ave. E., Twin Falls with Fr. Mariusz Majewski celebrating. Burial will follow at the Filer Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, Twin Falls.
The family suggest memorials be given in Barbara's name to the Filer Kiwanis Club. Contributions may be given to funeral chapel staff or mailed to Filer Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 462, Filer, ID 83328.
