Barbara Anne Friedrich, born on September 30, 1939, in Tilden, NB, to Carl Cecil Barr, MD and Ina Marie Barr, passed from this life on May 3, 2016. She fell while walking with her husband, Carl, and her dogs (Libby and Alle) and struck her head on a curb which caused an inoperable contusion in her brain. Barbara graduated from the University of Nebraska where she was introduced to Carl by her twin brother, Bill. She married Carl on December 27, 1959, graduated with a BSBA in January 1961, and then she and Carl moved to Idaho Falls, ID. She and Carl had two daughters and a son, created a summer home in Palisades (which she referred to as heaven), and learned to waterski and snow ski. Dog training, competing, and judging dog obedience trials and tracking tests were a major focus for the last decades of her life. Highlights of her life, in addition to being a remarkable wife, mother, and grandmother, included a mule ride into the Grand Canyon and several Australian and European vacations. More recently, at the age of 76, (with the help of grandson, Brayden) she landed a nearly 10-foot, 200 pound blue marlin. Barbara was beloved by many and respected for her honesty (saying it as she saw it), her drive, and her efforts to help others and praise their accomplishments, and her belief that a job worth doing was worth doing right. Some called her feisty. Barbara is survived by her husband Carl, daughter Kris Walker, M. (Bob) of Pocatello, ID, daughter Jennifer Brassey Ardovino (Joe) of Park City, UT, and son Steven Friedrich (Mary Beth) of Kaysville, UT, and eight grandchildren (Mallory, Garrett, and Jakob Friedrich, Brayden and Sierra Brassey, Landry Walker, and AJ and Avery Ardovino), and sister (in law) Darlene Black (Richard). She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin brother William Barr, M.D. of Tilden, NB.
