She was the youngest of seven and a total surprise to the whole family. She lived in Mesa, ID for the first six years of her life where her father was the orchard boss of the Mesa Orchards and attended her first year of school in a one room school house, and her means of transportation was by horseback. The family then moved to Payette where she attended and graduated from the Payette school system. When Betty was a sophomore in high school she went out on a blind date and as she put it "it must have been love at first sight" because they dated for two years and after she graduated they were married on Oct. 19, 1947 and spent 56 years together in wedded bliss, for the most part!! Betty worked many jobs throughout her life, picking fruit in the local orchards, grocery clerk at Safeway and Albertsons, as a clerk at D&B Supply and finally 18 years at Seneca where she made many friends. She was always very involved in her children's lives and was always a room mother for at least one of them every year, a cub scout leader and the group leader of the campfire girls. Her involvement continued on with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, you couldn't attend one of their activities without her going along and being the loudest cheerleader in the crowd. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, her son Larry and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her son Rusty Magnuson of Weiser and her daughter Linda and Jeff Williams of Payette. Her grandchildren, Randy (Sandrella) Magnuson, Shelley Magnuson, Sean (Julie) Magnuson, Jeff (Sondra) Magnuson, Debbie (Wick) Hauser, Rusty Callahan, Wendy (John) Okuda, Niki Callahan, Chris Fenton, Eric (Jael) Fenton, Justin Fenton, Markita (Drew) Brammer, and Travis (Sarah) Williams She is also survived by great grandchildren, Alyssa Palumbo; Brandyn Magnuson; Tyler Perdue; Tabor and McKenzie Magnuson; Isaiah Burns; Alexandria and Gabriella Magnuson; Wick Hauser; Savanna Vaughn; Taylor Smith; Tristan and Tyrese Fenton; Sidney Fenton; Zoe Garcia; Jessica Fenton; Jayden and Rylan Brammer and Jacoby Williams and another to be born in the summer; and by a host of friends, June, Irene, Judy, Lynda and many, many more. To honor Betty's memory, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
