Beverly T Fisher

November 27, 1924 — December 21, 2013

Beverly Jean Tuck Fisher, 89, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Morning Star Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls. She was born on November 27, 1924, in Garfield, Utah, to Harry A. and Annie Laura White Tuck. Her youth was spent in Garfield where she excelled scholastically and in sports. She loved her time in student council, in cheer leading and went on to play fast-pitch softball with the Salt Lake Shamrocks traveling team. She had a life long love for dogs and books. She met Marine Lovell (Val) Fisher on a train to the Dalles, Oregon. It was love at first sight for them both. They married in Salt Lake City. He returned from two wars, but she lost him to a heart attack at age 43. She never remarried. Bev began her long political career as a stenographer for the Salt Lake County attorney's office where she met Frank Moss. When he became U.S. Senator, she relocated with him to Washington, D.C. as personal aide on his staff. After he retired, she also worked on staff for Senator Frank Church of Idaho. She met many interesting people in her career and was always the consummate professional. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Bev had a life-long love of golf, music, books, and dogs - Dusty, Jeff, Tuk, Zeke and Miss Effie. Bev loved family and even though not blessed with children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews dearly. In fact, after her long career, she moved to Idaho Falls to be near family. Survivors include, her sister, Vivian T. Carter of Vernal, Utah; her four nieces, Kathy (Robert) Clark, Trudie Tuck, and Debi Simmons, all of Idaho Falls, and Pam Lenhart of Salt Lake City, Utah; and three nephews, Ken Tuck of Idaho Falls, Tim Carter of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Randy Carter of Vernal, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Val, her parents, Harry and Annie Tuck, her brothers, Robert and Kenneth Tuck. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery in Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
