Bill Dwaine Dennett

March 2, 1942 — August 21, 2012

Bill Dwaine Dennett, 70, of New Plymouth, left this world to be with our Heavenly Father on Aug. 21, 2012. A viewing will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24th at the First Baptist Church, New Plymouth. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Condolences may be made to Bill's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.
Bill was born on March 2, 1942 to Roy J. and Opal Lela Sweet Dennett. He attended school, grades 1 - 12, in Fruitland. On Feb. 13, 1960 he married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart LaPreal Talbot in New Plymouth. This is where they settled down and raised their three children, Jeff, Todd, and Dana.
In his early years he was a butcher at Wells and Davies. Later he found a second love for driving truck. He drove for many companies and at the time of his death he had drove 14 years for Wal-Mart out of Hermiston, OR. Bill considered all his co-workers at Wal-Mart his second family.
Dad enjoyed tinkering on his tractor, Mustang, and guns. Dad's other hobby was riding his Harley with family and close friends. Anyone who knew Bill knew he never met a stranger; he always made you feel like you were family. We will miss his kind spirit, bright smile, and loving presence in our lives.
Bill is survived by his wife LaPreal of New Plymouth; his children, Jeff Dennett (Lauri) of Payette, Todd Dennett (Maggie) of Dayton, OR, and Dana Owens of Benton City, WA; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Cole, Shaunta, Tanisha, Kylie, Brandon, Josh, and Matt; two great grandchildren, Braxton and Kensley; a special adopted granddaughter, Justin; three special sisters, Betty Pittman (late David Pittman) of Payette, Bev Schlottman (Kraig) of Grangeville, ID, and Bonnie Gill (Dennis) of Baker City, OR; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Bill was an extraordinary man with a strong faith and love for God.
Memorials may be made to the New Plymouth First Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
