He was born July 14, 1937 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Douglas and Sara Bright, where he grew up and joined the United States Air Force in 1955. He was stationed in St. Mihiel, France as a cryptographer. In 1959 he was honorably discharged as Airman First Class. He attended ing trade school at Idaho State University. He was employed by the Post Register as a hot-type er and retired after 40 years as Production Manager. In the mid 1970's he partnered with Jack Magnuson and owned Scotty's Drive-In in Idaho Falls. Bob met and married the love of his life Judy Fager in June of 1961. Together they had 5 children and 13 grandchildren. On June 9, 2011 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He was an active member of Blessed John Paul II Catholic Community, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was an avid golfer and loved a good poker game. Family was the most important thing to him and he often drove to visit his children and grandchildren no matter how far the drive. Bob was a good friend to all that knew him and was always there when you needed him. He was a generous and loving husband, father, and Grandfather who adored his grandchildren, taking great pride in them. He is survived by his wife, Judy of Idaho Falls; his children, Dr. Robert (Jennifer) Bright of Lubbock, TX, Julianne (Jim) Hargrove of Bremerton, WA, Steven (Jodi) Bright of Idaho Falls, Mary Joanne (Alex) Constantino of Idaho Falls and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Bright, parents Douglas and Sara Bright and a brother, Don Bright. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Christ The King Catholic Church, on the corner of 17th and Woodruff in Idaho Falls, with Father Raul Covarrubias, celebrant. Burial will follow at Fielding Memorial Cemetery with Burial Rites under the direction of the Bonneville Veterans Team. A Rosary will be recited from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a viewing following from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in his name.Bob Bright, 74, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Medical Center from pulmonary toxicity.
