Bonnie Lou Godley Casto

Bonnie Lou Casto, 80, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011. A viewing for family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Bonnie was born March 10, 1931 to Melissa Godley and H. Cantrel in Shoshone, ID. She was raised by her grandmother and attended school through the eighth grade. Bonnie resided with her grandmother until she married Melvin Casto on Nov. 22, 1952 in Elko, NV. One daughter, Mary Kay Casto was their only child. Bonnie traveled with Melvin to different areas while he worked as a foreman and a section laborer.

In 1972, they moved to the New Plymouth area where they bought five acres as a home site; residing there until her death.
Bonnie led a simple and quite life. She enjoyed going to the mountains, baking pies and bread, going for walks, and visiting with friends. She is survived by her husband, Melvin; a daughter, Mary Kay; a half-sister and her husband; her grandchildren, Doug and Penny; and four great grandchildren. Her parents, a half-sister and half-brother preceded her in death.
