Byron Frances Champion, 77, of Payette, passed away at home in Payette on Oct. 16, 2012. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette with Pastor Bill Hays officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Payette. Byron was born Aug. 14, 1935 in Ontario, OR to George and Alma Champion. He attended school in Fruitland; graduating in 1953. He was in the army from 1955-1957. After he completed his military service he went on to graduate from the University of Idaho. After graduation he worked for his Uncle Ted then went on to work for FMC and ConAgra; for over 40 years his office was located at Pipeco (Grower's Supply) in Fruitland. He married Barbara Mordhorst in 1968 and became a father to Dawn and Kelly. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and to travel. He loved going south for the winter and going to the Oregon Coast in August to crab and clam. He loved his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister Vale; nephews Jimmy and Jerry; and his loving daughter Dawn.
Byron is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter Kelly (Ed); grandchildren Eddie, Sarah (Travis), and Sonnie; great grandchildren Hayden, Braxton , Lander (Eddie), and Jacoby (Sarah and Travis).
