Carol Ann Mitchell Goff, 71, was reunited with her husband Dallas on Aug. 1, 2011. She had battled kidney cancer for 18 months by placing her life in the hands of the Lord. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 5th at Payette Church of the Nazarene followed with a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Carol's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.
Carol was born Oct. 24, 1939 in Sacramento, CA to Clifford (James) Edward Mitchell and Edna Schnabel Mitchell Russel. She met Dallas while he was playing music and married him June 1, 1962. She inherited his four children RoJeane, Dennis, Johnny, and Donna. In 1965 she gave birth to her "baby boy" Darryn. Carol attended Minidoka schools. She was a member of the Payette Church of the Nazarene. Mom and Dad wintered in Arizona and traveled to many places in the United States, Canada and Mexico where she developed very close friendships with numerous people. She fulfilled a lifelong desire to take a cruise ship to the Caribbean. She enjoyed her lunch bunch friends and time she spent with her sisters-in-law. Her friends will miss her boisterous personality. The family dinners will not be the same without Mom's humor and burned food items. Grandma never met a biscuit or sweet potato she could not burn or a smoke alarm she did not test. She bought a microwave oven so she would not burn any more food and instead caught her microwave on fire. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas; son-in-law, Chuck Rhinehart; parents, James and Dorothy Mitchell and Edna and George Russel; and brothers, Bradley and Gene Mitchell. Carol is survived by her five children, RoJene Rhinehart, Dennis (Cyndie), Johnny (Stephanie), Donna Hilliard (Galen), and Darryn (Jami); 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; her sisters, Marilyn Clemmons (Melvin) and Krysten Cox (Steve); and her brother, Michael Runcorn (Sharon). The family thanks the Payette Care Center and XL Hospice for their caring hands. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Carol's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital or DC Super Stars Special Olympics Bowling Team, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O.
