Catherine Blazing

IDAHO FALLS - Catherine Reddy Henderson Cordon Blazing 97, was born May 22, 1914 in Pocatello, Idaho to Thomas L. and Margaret Reddy, being one of two children. Her sister passed away during infancy. She was raised in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1932.
She met and later married Samuel Earl Henderson. During this time they had three children, while living in Pocatello, Richard, Larry, and Gloria.
In 1950 she married Lewis O. Cordon. They were together for 5 years before Lewis passed away. The next few years brought single parenthood to Catherine. She worked in Pocatello as a waitress for Stouffer's Restaurant and the Bannock Hotel, where she met and fell in love with Thomas Blazing. They eloped and were married March 15, 1957, in Elko, Nevada. During the marriage Catherine and Tom moved to Reno, Nevada making their home for 25 years. At this time she worked part-time as a clerk for Rite Aid Drug store and various other convenience stores.
In 1983 Catherine and Tom moved to Idaho Falls, making their home until March 15, 2001 when Tom passed away. This marriage lasted 44 years. Catherine lived in her own home until recently. She resided at Montecello Assisted living.
Catherine is survived by; one daughter, Gloria Ann (Bill) Waters Peck; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and ten great - great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband's and her two son, Richard (Bub) Earl Henderson and Larry Lee Henderson.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello. There will be a viewing Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home , 825 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls.
