Catherine Anne Parsons better known as Cathy was born in Council, Idaho, February 9th, 1964. Her parents Fred and Donna Parsons knew they had a fighter way back then. She was Teeny Tiny and in need of extra medical care. But that did not stop her. She grew and became the cutest little girl with a big smile and very very affectionate. She played in the backyard with a bunch of kids from the neighborhood day in and day out.
After the family moved to Fruitland, Cathy became very involved in Special Olympics. She loved the participation.
She was not worried about winning but always wanted her friends to cross the finish line with her. She would often wait
for them so they could cross together. Cathy also had a horse named squirt. She would ride that horse nonstop til one day they had a disagreement and
Cathy was bucked off. She was done riding but continued to love horses. She had stuffed animal horses, pictures and those small
replica horses.
Cathy also loved to cook but not everything was edible. She learned as a small child from a cook stove Pop made her for the back yard.
When she was younger she used dirt and veggies. As she got older she quit with the dirt and would use whatever she could find in the kitchen. It's
a good thing she had supervision. Who knows what would have been for dinner.
Cathy moved out of the family home as a late teen and moved into a group home. She had some very good homes throughout the years.
The last home Cathy lived in was very special. She made a lot of friends with the staff. Cathy did not have a very good vocabulary but for her friends and family who could understand her she was always the life of the party. Cathy could make her point known if you would just spend the time to get to know her.
Here are a few things that made Cathy Cathy:
You could ask her how many she wanted...you always got "8"
She would sing along with any song, no words but lots of ahhhhhhhhs.
What did she like to drink "POP" and she would often spell it for you.
As soon as you brought it to her, she would tell you she wanted two pops.
Making her angry would usually get a "bobo" comment
When she was younger she had a somewhat colorful vocabulary...something she learned from her Dad maybe...
Last but not least, she taught a few of the family cats how to fly. She felt a few of them needed to be out of the house with a toss.
