Celia was born in Hardin, MT on April 6, 1931 one of seven of Jose and Luz Herrera but lived most of her life in Idaho Falls. In addition to raising 3 children Celia worked at the INEL and was a strong advocate of the National Diabetes Association. Celia will be remembered as a bright, cheerful, loving and compassionate woman. Celia was very involved in her children's lives as they were growing up and continued her involvement with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren attending posse meets, karate matches, football, cheer, volleyball, dance, choir and t-ball games. You could always hear Celia in the background cheering for her family. Celia had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Christ the King Church and over the years was involved in many church activities. Both Al and Celia are members of the Eagles where they have many friends and fond memories. Celia is survived by her husband of 60 years Albert De La Garza, her children Randy (Debbie) De La Garza, Tona (Dennis) Duncan, and Albert Jess (Lin) De La Garza. 8 grandchildren, Tony, Stehphanie, Shasta, Chelsey and AJ De La Garza, Misty Webster, and Derick (Ali) and Jaclyn Duncan, 3 great-grandchildren, Atlee Webster, Ayden Duncan and Aston Westergard, brother Raul Herrera, sister Alice Breul, 3 step grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, 1 step great-great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and close friends. Sally was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Luz, brother's Art, Joe and Jess Herrera, sister Sophie Solis and infant son Ricky. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a viewing from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. both on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 1690 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls, with Father Jose Ramirez, celebrant. The interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed or the family suggest donations be made in Celia's name to the National Diabetes Association.Idaho Falls - Celia De La Garza, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
