Charles Wayne "Charlie" Kuhlman, 53, of New Plymouth, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012. Charlie was born April 23, 1959 in Wenatchee, WA. Charlie was the second of five children and is preceded in death by his father, Chuck Kuhlman but is survived by his mother, Velma Johnson and step-father, Dave; brothers, Chris Kuhlman (Malissa) and Shane Kuhlman (Kelly); sisters, Trina Pettis (Rob) and Pam Ashcraft (Dick); step-brother, David Johnson and step-sister, Kim Mclay (Paul); and his many hunting and fishing friends. Charlie's life and legend will live on among numerous nieces and nephews, along with his grandchildren Dylan Kuhlman, Audrey Kuhlman, Taven Dionne-Cloud and Cynder Dionne-Cloud. Charlie was not only brother, uncle and son, but also a loving companion to Barbara Cloud and his children, Travis, Cody and Dustin and step-children, Allie Cloud and Mitchell Tucker. Charlie move to New Plymouth in 1972, graduated New Plymouth High School and became a roofer for Williamson's Roofing for over 25 years. He enjoyed everything life had to offer him, including the work. When he wasn't out on the mountain waiting on that big bull to drop down out of a saddle or watching a bedded Mulie, he was falling trees and building works of art with his hands. Charlie enjoyed the little things in life and could often be found kicking back near the camp fire with an iced tea in one hand and his dog and friend, Buddy in the other and when he wasn't out at the fire, he was at the lake. Buddy and the iced tea were demoted to a grassy spot next to Charlie's chair and his hands busied themselves with flies and a fishing pole because he knew a bigger fish was always "right up under that log". Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 9th at the New Plymouth Football Field on S. Plymouth Ave., New Plymouth followed by a potluck wake at Trina and Rob's house. Donations to help with medical expenses will be accepted at any Zion's Bank in place of flowers. Rest in peace, Charlie, knowing you are gone but never forgotten. Cremation was under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Condolences may be made to Charlie's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com
