Charles David "Chuck" Marshall of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015. Chuck was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 4, 1941 to Perley and Jean Marshall. He spent his childhood living in both Winnipeg and Vancouver, British Columbia, and attended college at Everett Junior College in Everett, WA. Chuck was a well respected and award winning hotelier, and managed properties all over the United States and the Bahamas. He was highly regarded for reviving struggling properties and turning them back into profitable hotels. In his retirement, he began a second career as a much-loved bus driver for the Bonneville Joint School District 93 in Idaho Falls. He always liked when young adults would recognize him as the bus driver they had when they were elementary school. Perhaps Chuck's favorite time of the year was the winter holidays; he delighted in the handmade gifts and snacks the children riding his bus always gave him. Chuck was an avid fisherman who was passionate about the Snake River and had tales of catching enormous rainbow trout, along with letting the king of all king salmon get away. Most of all, he loved being "Papa" to his three young grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda; children Jennifer Marshall of Denver, CO, Shane Ratzlaff (Danielle) of Omaha, NE, and Barbara Miller (Andy) of Idaho Falls; grandchildren Kaylie Ratzlaff, and Boen and Brodie Miller; sister Nina Coghill of Arlington, WA; and nephews Mark Coghill (Anita), Kevin Coghill (Lisa), and Donald Coghill (Erika) of Arlington, WA. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls, with Mike Stearns, officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
