Cleo's mother would hitch up a team of horses to a buckboard each day to go out to where sheepherders had sheep in Ada County and cook for them; that is where she met George Stanton. They stayed in Ada County and Cleo started school in Boise. In 1925, Cleo and her family moved to Weiser, approximately ½ mile north of the Cy Randall place on Monroe Creek and she finished the fourth grade.
Cleo met Harvey C. Johnson and they were married Oct. 7, 1934. Harvey was working on the Railroad and was transferred to Brogan, OR. When Harvey returned to work on the railroad in March 1952 they moved from a farm on Crane Creek near Weiser, to Payette. Cleo worked at Plumbo Packing House in 1953 and 1954. In 1955 she went to work at the Casa Loma Convalescent Home as a nurse's aide, cleaning and cooking. From Aug. 1961 to Aug. 1962 she went to school at the Caldwell Hospital to become a L.P.N., she then returned to work at Casa Loma Convalescent Home until she retired on Nov. 30, 1976.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Helen Fogerson and Faye Randall; and children, Myrtle Joyce Bounds and twins Billie and Bobby.
