Born November 5, 1910 in Charles City, Iowa to parents H. Verne and Rose Nelson McMaster. Died March 2, 2015 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
She moved to Idaho as an infant where she resided the rest of her life. The family moved to Cascade in 1920. She graduated from Cascade High School in 1927, and earned a teaching certificate from the normal school in Lewiston. She taught upper elementary grades in a 1-room school in Cabarton, and later in Cascade.
Married George Harwood May 15, 1931. Survived by their four daughters: Marilyn Hooper (Gerald), Carol Schoen, Donna Stewart (Larry), and Paula Anderson (Bruce). There are 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her two brothers, Wayne and Clair McMaster, and son-in-law Don Schoen.
Cleone was active in the Cascade Order of Eastern Star and an organizer of Jobs Daughters where she served as the first Guardian. The family moved to Payette in 1954. Cleone assisted her husband with his meat market/frozen food locker business in Cascade, and with his insurance business in Payette. She spent the last few years in Northern Idaho.
Cleone lived a very long and productive life. She witnessed many changes and was confounded by the new technology, but learned and loved to use email and was interested in how it all worked.
Arrangements are being handled by Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d'Alene and Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 9th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette with burial following at Riverside Cemetery in Payette.
