Devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, Cliff Dain died January 28, 2012 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was born June 24, 1924 in Alton, IL to John Edward Dain and Anna Elizabeth Adams Blankenship Dain Cliff served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Islands with the SeaBees. He has been a member of American Legion Post 0199 for over 60 years. When he returned from the war he met and married Suzanne Kribs . He worked for Langen Oil Company in Wood River, IL for several years, and then purchased the company and ran it until his retirement in 1993. His beloved wife, Suzanne, worked at his side until her death in 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Jim) Thorsen of Idaho Falls, ID and Mary (Roger) Roderick of Edwardsville, IL; three grandchildren, Jeff (Lesley) Roderick of Glen Carbon, IL, Suzanne (Chris) McGinnis of St. Louis, MO and Erin (Joey) Garwood of Edwardsville, IL; seven great grandchildren, Kennedy, Madelyn and Hope Roderick
Sean and Margaret McGinnis, Joel and Brooke Garwood, and many well loved nieces and nephews. Cliff was preceded in death by Suzanne Kribs Dain, his wife of 57 years
his parents John and Anna Dain, sisters, Cleo (Frank) Bennette, Dottie (Wilmer) Primas, Vivian (Vernon) Turner, and Jennie (Harold) Price Grave side services will be held in Edwardsville, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Cliff's memory to the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans or Wounded Warriors. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
