Donald Daire Martin

Donald Daire Martin, 80, of Fruitland, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 at home after a long battle of with cancer. Funeral Services will be held Monday February 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette, Idaho. Pastor Richard Cook and Pastor Matt Phipps will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Payette. Condolences may be made to Donald's family at www.shaffer- jensenchapel.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland. He was born May 12, 1934 to Velva Tussing and Edgar D. Martin in Nogal, New Mexico. Donald grew up in Fruitland and attended all 12 grades there.
In 1955 he married Maria Krasznavolgy. They made their home in Fruitland. He worked many years as a ware house office manager at Ore-Ida. Donald then worked at the Payette County Assessor's Office until his retirement in 1999. Donald loved the outdoors, camping, long drives in the country, frisbee golf and cross word puzzles. Donald and Maria raised three children. Angela Martin Shelton, Alicia Martin Toombs and David K. Martin. His extended family includes seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to the children and grandchildren he is survived by three sisters, Joan Martin Fischer, Kathleen Martin Day and Darla Martin Johnson. Donald is preceded in death by his wife Maria in 2001.
