Dorothy was born June 25, 1925 in Oakdale, CA to Albert G. Wiley and Paula (Handler) Wiley. She grew up in Modesto, CA. When she was 19, she met a sailor from Idaho, Jack Raby. They married in California and returned to Idaho, where she stayed while he was overseas. When he returned they made their home in Payette. They had 3 girls Sherill, Karen, and Robin from this union. They later divorced. On September 5, 1968 she married Everett Colerick, they had 7 happy years together. Everett died on July 11, 1975. Dorothy loved babies and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and caretaker. She baby-sat in her home for 25 years. She was also a foster care provider for 15 years, she took mostly babies. She was happiest when she was holding a baby, her face would just light up.
At age 80, Dorothy survived colorectal cancer and was cancer free at the time her death. Her doctor said she was his miracle.
Dorothy loved family get togethers, sweets, shopping, and BSU football. She was very proud of her daughters and grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her 3 daughters Sherill (Spike) Rhodes Payette, ID., Karen Laaksonen Payette, ID., Robin Brown Fruitland, ID. Brother and Sister-in Law Al (Pat) Wiley Modesto, CA. Grandchildren Bill Rhodes Owensboro, KY., Rashell (Robert) LeBow Payette, ID., Troy Butler Caldwell, ID., Toby (Beth) Butler Boise, ID., Heather Laaksonen Payette, ID., Brandi Laaksonen, AZ., Keefer Brown, Crane, MT. Great-grandchildren Hadrian (Cindy) Rhodes Filer, ID., Wayne and Ema Rhodes, Courtney and Tanner Butler, Cohen and Sawyer Butler, Chandler, Mikhail and Sofie LeBow. Great-great- granddaughter Talyne Anne Rhodes. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Paula, her step-dad Archie and husband Everett. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at 2 p.m. also at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette.
