Dorothy Mae Quick

Dorothy M. Quick, 73 of Roberts, Idaho, passed away Wednesday January 4th, 2012, peacefully in her sleep. Dorothy was born September 15, 1938 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Arthur and Emma Keller. She grew up in Roberts and attended school graduating in 1956 from Roberts High School where she had, and made many wonderful lifelong friends.
Dorothy married Ronald V. Quick in 1956 in Carlsbad, California. They lived there until his death in 1966. Dorothy returned to her home town to raise her four young children. She worked many jobs in Roberts, including waitressing in the old Roberts Café, working in potato warehouses and running the Mint Bar. When Dorothy found herself with an empty nest, she got involved with the city and ran for a council seat and was elected in for several terms. Mom enjoyed this and felt great accomplishment in helping raise funds to get new toys for the City Park, where she parked her thunderbird most days to read a book, or visit with friends passing by.
Dorothy was a member of the Catholic church all her life and was the treasurer for them for many years.
Mom will be dearly missed. She was an amazing mom, grandma, and friend who always believed in us, was kind hearted and never negative, always put others before herself and was a wonderful role model.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cheryl (John) Buck of Smoot, Wyoming. Estrella (Greg) Eames of Menan, Idaho. One son, Jake (Leslie) Quick of Victor, Idaho. Eight grandchildren; Mike Bedwell, Jessica Robison, Sky Duncan, Brittany Buck, Brandon Quick, Hannah Quick, Kendracody Eames and Tyrell Eames. Five great grandchildren; Letty, Melissa, Cassidy, Krysten and Khaily. Three brothers; Philip Keller (Tiny), Moore, Idaho. Vernon Keller (Afton) and Rick Keller, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Two sisters; Karol Winder (Dallas), American Falls, Idaho and Anita Hammon (Willie), Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Quick, her husband Ronald V. Quick, and a brother in law, Dallas Winder. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2012, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls. A Rosary will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012, with a viewing following from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home.
