Earl Edward Sands

Earl Edward Sands, of Payette, passed away at home Monday, June 13, 2011 with his loving family by his side. A viewing will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, June 16th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 17th at the First Baptist Church, Payette. Condolences may be offered to Earl's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Earl was born Sept. 13, 1932 in Osceola, NE to Edward and Rose Sands. He was married Sept. 8, 1951, to Evelyn, his wife of 59 years, the two having actually met in the first grade. Drafted at 19, he served a 16 month tour in Korea with the United States Army. Upon his return to the states, he began a floor covering business spanning 25 years, later building and selling several homes in the community. Ready for a new challenge he purchased and established Sands Bar, enjoying his customers for 12 fun filled years. Ready for yet another challenge, upon selling Sands Bar, he spent additional years working at the Farmers Co-op in Ontario, OR. Earl is survived by his wife Evelyn; three children, Sandy (Peter) Michaels of Los Angeles, CA, Jeff (Karen) Sands of Payette,
and Joe (Norma) Sands of Nampa, ID; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Earl is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, his newborn son Randy, and grandson Dylan. Special thanks to all his loving family and friends.
