Edna Lee Cureton

Edna Lee Cureton, 81, of Fruitland, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at a Boise Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday June 2, 2012 at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette. Bishop Alan Finch will conduct. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho. Friends may call from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm Saturday June 2, 2012 at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette. Funeral services are under the direction of with Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
Edna was born April 2, 1931, one of five children of Roscoe and Mary Hensley in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She married Riley Cureton Sept. 1st, 1951 in Elko, NV and from this union they had two daughters, Glenna and Debbie. They lived and worked most of their lives in Hazelton, Idaho before retiring in Fruitland.
In Hazelton, Edna worked in various positions in the farming community in addition to working with her husband in the family business. After Riley passed away in 1995, she filled her days meeting and visiting friends and looking for treasures at yard sales and thrift stores. Edna had a special place in her heart for the Fruitland Police Department and was instrumental in forming the senior, "You Are Never Alone Program." She was baptized in the LDS Church in 2008 and looked forward the home visits of the Missionaries.
Survivors include daughter Glenna Jones of Hazelton; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dave Terrell of Meridian; three granddaughters, Melanie Adams (Eldon), Brandi Strickland (Marc), and Linsey Lockner (Tim); two grandsons, Austin and Alex Terrell: eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Edith Wolfe of Kimberly, Id.
She was preceded in death by her husband Riley, her parents, two brothers, and her twin sister.
Memorials may be made to the Meals on Wheels or a charity of the choice. The family would like to thank the Fruitland Police Department for all their special care and attention provided to Edna.EDNA LEE CURETON - FRUITLAND
