Edna Johnsen

On Friday, August 18, 2023, Edna C. Johnsen passed away at Idaho Falls Community Hospital due to complications from kidney disease. Born on May 19, 1952, to Edward and LaVerne Sauers in Idaho Falls, ID where she enjoyed a diverse and happy childhood. Later, she was blessed with a wonderful son, Shane Patrick O'Dell. While living in Idaho Falls, Red Baron Flying Service and Equifax Services employed her, she later retired from EG&G Idaho. She enjoyed being an active and contributive member of her community and made friends quickly. She loved playing pool, fishing, gardening, practical jokes, traveling, and a true movie buff.

Edna is survived by her son, Shane O'Dell of Idaho Falls, ID, stepson, Bill Johnsen (Sarah) of Ellensburg, WA, stepdaughter, Lisa Johnsen (Aaron) of Madison, WI, and stepdaughter, April Johnsen, of Idaho Falls, ID. Her surviving brothers include Tim Tomchak (Carolee) of Grants Pass, OR, David Tomchak (Marina), of Idaho Falls, ID, sisters include; Margaret Huebert (Elroy), of York NE, and Alice Balkovetz, of Albuquerque NM. Her grandchildren include grandsons, Austin O'Dell, Kenneth Redd, and Cody Ryder, granddaughters include Lily Monell and Muriel Redd. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Johnsen, parents, Ed and LaVerne, and nephew, Tom Mosbrucker.
