Elbert Eugene (Doc) Walker passed away February 27, 2012 at Woodstone Retirement Center. He was born November 17, 1919 in Berryville, Arkansas to Joe Luther and Ruth Ann Walker.
Dad received the nickname '"Doc" at the age of four years when attending an auction held by Doc Rose and returned home to gather his things together to hold his own auction. The name stayed with him the remainder of his life.
Dad enlisted in the Army Air Corps when the United States entered World War II. He served honorably as a gunnery instructor for the duration of the war achieving the rank of sergeant. He loved his country always.
Elbert met and married Margaret Ruth Chapman in 1943. They remained married until her death in 1997. They had three daughters; Cheryl Carlquist of North Ogden, Utah; Sandra (Jeff) Hammack of Buhl, Idaho and Eugenia (Jim) Fangsrud of Ronan, Montana. They had five grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Elbert brought his family from Mississippi to Twin Falls In 1957 where he worked at Union Motors. He continued working for Ford Motor divisions as parts manager for many years. He retired from the City of Twin Falls.
Dad is preceded in death by his wife Margaret, two brothers and two sisters.

Our Dad survived a Great War, cancer, heart surgery and three daughters. He was a good and honorable man. He lived his life by his saying "'All you leave behind is your good name."
Funeral services will be held Friday March 2, 2012 at 2:00pm at White Mortuary with viewing an hour previous. Services are under the direction of Lance Cox and the staff at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park"
