Cremation and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Elsie's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Elsie was born in Butte, MT on Jan. 12, 1941 to Michael John and Anne Elizabeth Gregovich. She was the youngest of three children; growing up in Dillon, MT, Elsie was a bit of a tomboy and spent her time following around her brother Donald and his friends wanting to play baseball, rather than spend time with her sister Irene playing dolls (much to Irene's dismay). Elsie received her High School GED and then proceeded onto a year of college. She then went onto selling and teaching accordion to students. She was an excellent accordion sales person and even convinced her sister Irene to purchase one, and that her niece Barbara could learn to play. She was a savvy business woman before it was the trend it is today. In 1970 Elsie received her insurance agent's license, for four years she saved money and then purchased The Rainbow Bar in Livingston, MT with her good friend and business partner Theda. The Rainbow was sold in 1984 and Elsie retired. For the next three years Elsie and Theda spent time traveling to 48 of the states in a motor home. Then in 1987 she once again went into the bar business and purchased the Shields River Inn in Clyde Park, MT. In 1997 she sold the Inn then moved to Payette, ID in 2000 to be near her sister Irene, retiring for a second time. Elsie enjoyed camping and being in the outdoors she often took her niece Pam and great nephew Randy with her during the summer, but her true passion was traveling. She was able to see all 50 states, took a cruise to Alaska with friends, and traveled Europe with her niece Barbara; she visited 11 countries on the European tour, it was the trip of a lifetime! In addition to travel, Elsie was an excellent pool player and over the years played on several leagues to include having her own teams. She played cards and loved to visit Vega, Reno, Winnemucca and Jackpot. She was very lucky with cards and always knew which cards had been played and which were still in the deck. She had a photographic memory that way. Elsie was an avid football fan and watched it every chance she got, both NFL and college. She loved to laugh and had a contagious laugh, so much so that people would start laughing with her and not even know why. Elsie is survived by her brother Donald M. Gregovich of Dillon, MT; sister Irene A. Vert of Payette, ID; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Her family and numerous friends will remember her always. Elsie was one of a kind!
