Elsie E. Winkler

Elsie Eleanor Winkler went to her heavenly home on September 1st, 2011. Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, on November 1st, 1915, of Swedish emigrant parents Elsie was one of nine children born to Amanda and Carl Anderson. Elsie was graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1934. She attended Idaho
State University for one year when she met Albert Winkler. They were married in 1935 and lived on the Winkler farm where Albert was farming. Albert died in 1961. Two children were born to this union, Albert (Bert) Winkler jr. and Eleanor Winkler. Bert died in December of 2008. After Albert's death Elsie worked at Faye's Hat and Gown until it closed. She has lived in Idaho Falls for the past 12 years.
Elsie was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of faith in God, a valiant determination, and a happy disposition. She will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, 2550 Rose Rd. in Blackfoot. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial funds to the First Baptist Church, 2550 Rose Rd. Blackfoot, ID 83221, or the Heart for Hospice of Idaho Falls, 503 Woodruff Ave., Idaho Falls, ID 83404. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
