Emily M. Baker Emily M. Turnipseed Baker, 99 years young, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at Cedar Draw Living Center in Filer. Emily was born October 1, 1916 in Filer, Idaho to Sidney and Lida Turnipseed. Emily married Ed Baker on December 12, 1936; together they had three children, Kay, Eddie, and Jim. They farmed and ranched until Ed's death in 1984. She attended CSI at the age of 71 and received her GED. Emily liked to garden and work in the yard, traveling and fishing. She spent her younger years at Magic Hot Springs in Shoshone basin where she worked and fished. Emily moved to Cedar Draw Assisted Living Center in 2010 where she spent her remaining days. Emily is survived by her daughter, Kay Tipton of Hamilton, Montana; her two sons, Eddie (Shirley) Baker of North Pole, Alaska; and Jim (Barb) Baker of Filer, Idaho. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Baker; two brothers, Dan and Claude Turnipseed. A celebration of Emily's life will be held as a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Twin Falls Cemetery with Chaplain David Ackerman officiating. Services are under the direction of White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, Twin Falls. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and thanks to Cedar Draw Assisted Living staff and Hospice Visions staff for all their loving care and support.
