Faye Edelmayer

Faye Edelmayer 72, of Idaho Falls passed away Saturday August 4, 2012, at her home with family members by her side. She was a wife, mother, sister, Aunt, grandmother and friend to many. She was born September 18, 1939, in Shelly Idaho to Delbert and Leora Lamb. She grew up in Shelly and attended elementary school there. When she was in the 8th grade they moved to Roberts where she attended high school. She later received her GED from the EITC. On February 19, 1955, she married William Anton Edelmayer (aka "her cell mate") in Menan. Together, they had five children - John (Lisa) Edelmayer, Janae (Matt) Wilde, Janet (Mark) Beseris, Jed (April) Edelmayer, and Jonna (Dario) Keller; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She also had two sisters, Zelma and Judy; four brothers, Karl, Jay, Richard, and Rick. Faye dedicated heart felt services for 26 plus years to the Idaho Falls Headstart and Human Services Programs where she made life-long friends. She impacted many young lives. She retired as Director of the program in April of 2002. Faye was full of adventure! She raced jalopy cars in the winter and stockcars in the summer where she won more than her share of trophies. She fished in creeks, lakes, rivers and oceans. She loved going for long drives and enjoyed the beauty of Alaska. In her later years, she enjoyed her flowerbeds and the bright beautiful colors that blossomed. Mom always said she felt closest to God when she was in His great outdoors. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They always brought a smile to her face and a memory for her to share.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m, Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Annis Butte cemetery in Menan Idaho. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Buck Miller Hahn Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8th. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorial contributions to Aspen Home Health. The family would like to extend a special thank you to our wonderful Aunt Nelda for all her loving care. Additionally special thanks go to staff members of Southwest Idaho Advanced Care Hospital, EIRMC, Promontory Point, and Aspen Home Health.
