Florence Rose Korell

Florence Rose (Dehn) Korell, 99, of Idaho Falls, ID, died June 9, 2018, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls, ID. Florence was born November 20, 1918, in Hennepin County, MN, to John Dehn and Blanche Bourgeois Dehn. She attended elementary school in St. Cloud, MN, graduated from Anoka High School in Anoka, MN, in 1936, and graduated from Minneapolis Business College in 1938. On June 5, 1943, she married Gilbert W. Korell in San Diego, CA, moving back to Idaho Falls, ID, a few years later. They divorced in 1953. From this union five children were born. During her career of motherhood and business, she was a member of Credit Women International for several years and held the past presidency for one year. When Florence retired from her job in 1983, she continued to work. She cooked meals and cleaned the parish rectory two days a week for the priests, and washed and ironed the church purificators. She loved helping families in need of child care. Florence was very active in Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a member and past president of the Legion of Mary and served as an Extra Ordinary Eucharistic Minister to the homebound for several years. She was also an active member of the Idaho Falls Council of Catholic Women. She was active in a Cursillo Fourth Day prayer group and in the Third Order of Carmelites. Florence also ministered to the children of the parish during the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday mornings. Her faith was always very important to her and she believed that God had been really good to her and as long as she could continue to do things, she willingly continued to do whatever was needed. Survivors include her children; John Korell, Albuquerque, NM, Ann Janeen Korell, Idaho Falls, ID, Steven (Terrie) Korell, Idaho Falls, ID, Jerry Korell, Idaho Falls, ID, and Patricia Salvesen, Idaho Falls, ID; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Ford, Lake Elsinore, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Nevis, Concord, CA; granddaughter, Jill Estelle Frandsen; Roger Salvesen, son-in-law. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday June 19, 2018 at 11 am, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, on the corner of Ninth Street and Lee Avenue in Idaho Falls with Father Carlos Rosero officiating. A Rosary recitation will be held Monday June 18, 2018 at 6 pm at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street, Idaho Falls. Family will visit with friends following the Rosary from 7 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Idaho Falls, at a later time.
