Frank R. Bailey, Jr., 83, of Ontario, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at his home with family by his bedside. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Frank's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. He was born Aug. 26, 1929 to Frank R. Bailey and Edith M. (Deal) Bailey in Ontario, OR. In 1944 he joined the Marine Corp and served our country until 1947. In 1949 he met and married Norma F. Goff. They proceeded to start a large family staying primarily in Ontario, OR. In the 1950's he became the Police chief of Fruitland. In the 1960's he started working for Ore-Ida; eventually retiring from there. Frank was a Lt. Col. in the Army National Guard Reserves. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He loved to tell jokes and play his harmonica. He was a 65 year member of the V.F.W. which he was devoted to. He is survived by sons, Frankie Bailey (Kati) of Ontario and Mike Bailey of New Plymouth; daughters, Edith Shockley of Nyssa and Carol Hood (Roy) of Vale; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; his sister, Betty Heidelberger of California; numerous nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, brother, wife, and son.
