Frank Allen Garrison, 80, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 22, 2015 after fighting aggressive lung disease.
Frank was born February 7, 1935 in Wendell, Idaho to Frank and Lillie Mae (Barton) Garrison. Growing up during the Depression on a rural Idaho farm, and the youngest of 4 children, he knew what hard work meant and worked hard all of his life. After graduating from Wendell High School in 1953, Frank joined the Army and served in Europe as a Tank Gunner and met many lifelong friends. After returning from the service, Frank married the love of his life, Lois Arlene Andrews. They bought a home in Twin Falls and had a daughter, Stephanie in August of 1970. Frank helped raise Arlene's 4 older children and loved them as his own.
Everyone who knew Frank, knew he was a hard worker and he held several jobs, sometimes all at the same time. Frank worked many years at United Oil in Twin Falls, Jerome Gas and Oil for George and Bart Silvers, and Continental Distributing. Frank's occupation that he loved the most was his job as Security Guard at CSI. He saw the College grow and expand and truly enjoyed the campus and the atmosphere and the many friends he met there.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Stephanie and son in law, Rick and their daughters, Marley and Macy of Filer, Idaho. He spent the last two and ½ years living in Filer with Stephanie and Rick and "his girls". He is also survived by Son, Jack (Joelene) Morrison of Mesa, AZ; Daughter, Rose (Randy) of Linden, Iowa; Daughter, Laurie (Andy) of Phoenix, AZ and Son, Bill (Janet) of Mesa, AZ. Frank had 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several sisters and brothers in law. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Harold and Donal and sister, Lillie. And his beautiful wife, Arlene who passed in 1983.
Frank was a generous, caring, quiet yet funny man that loved gardening and working on the farm. He was very involved with Stephanie and his granddaughters activities with showing horses and did everything he could to make that possible.
Frank recently had his 80th birthday where we had a big party and he was so excited that "ALL of kids were coming". He enjoyed spending time with friends and relatives and always had a positive outlook, despite his declining health the last few years.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but we know he is breathing freely and is enjoying a long awaited happy reunion with Arlene and his loved ones that have gone before. Please watch over us Papa. We Love You!
