Geneva Marie Brown, 98 of Idaho Falls died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at her son's home in Idaho Falls. Geneva was born on April 30, 1914 at Bedford, Lincoln County, Wyoming, to Archibald Turner and Sarah Ellen Merritt who where both born in West Jordan, Utah. Her grandparents came from; London, England; Millcreek, Utah; Monroe, Indiana; and Nottingham, England. Geneva's Grandma and Grandpa Turner settled in a little valley. They gave it the name of Turnerville after them.
Geneva's father and mother were married for time and eternity in the Logan Temple in Logan, Utah. They built their own four-bedroom house on their farm and there they had fifteen children. There were eleven girls and four boys. Geneva was the tenth child. Due to having only four boys, the girls had to help out the boys and their father with chores on the farm. They were a very happy family full with love.
Geneva went up to the 8th grade in school. When she reached sixteen years old she traveled to Rigby to work in the seed house. She worked there until she met her husband Antone James Brown. They were married April 1, 1941 at Bishop Joseph H. Behr's house in Tetonia. They were blessed with four children, two girls and two boys: Phyllis, Antone Hugh, Ralph and Vera. Some of her hobbies include reading, writing, genealogy, gardening and crafts along with going out in the hills camping with Mother Nature which made her feel closer to our Heavenly Father.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Frailey of Idaho Falls; two sons, Tony Hugh (Leah) Brown and Ralph A. (Dorothy) Brown all of Idaho Falls; twelve grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Vera Brown.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013, at the Ririe Shelton Cemetery in Ririe, with Bishop Gregory Horton, officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 11:00 to 12 noon on Friday at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E 17th Street in Idaho Falls.
