George Konantz Hodgson

January 3, 1942 — June 25, 2016

George K. Hodgson, 74 of Idaho Falls and formerly of Mud Lake, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016. George was born on January 3, 1942 in Idaho Falls to Arthur James and Stella (Speelmon) Hodgson. He was raised working the family farm in Mud Lake and graduated from West Jefferson High School, Class of 1960. He continued to farm until joining the US Army serving in Texas and Germany. After his service, he returned to Mud Lake and married Karen Christopherson. They remained in Mud Lake where they farmed and raised their two daughters Joey and Kim. They sold the farm and moved to Idaho Falls in 1997 where they have lived since. George was a Master Mason and was active in the DuBois, Shelley and Idaho Falls Eagle Rock Masonic Lodges. He was also a long-time member of the Mud Lake VFW Post. George is survived by his wife Karen of Idaho Falls; his daughters: Kim Whitener of Great Falls, MT and Joey Hodgson of Idaho Falls; two grandsons: Grayson and Sawyer Whitener; and two brothers: J.D. Hodgson and his wife Sylvia Crouter of DuBois, WY and James Hodgson of Boise. George was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Gale and Tom Hodgson.
