George Tadashi Sadamori passed away peacefully on May 23, 2015. He lived an incredible 93 years despite having Rheumatoid Arthritis, Congestive Heart Failure, Cancer and Dementia. He was born in Seattle, WA on March 11, 1922 to Tagaro and Tsuyano Sadamori. They farmed and raised their family in Oralia near Kent, WA. George graduated from Kent High School and was able to return for the 20 year reunion.
After the war broke out, the family was ordered to Portland, OR stock yards until they were sent to the Tule Lake Internment Camp. Eventually the family would be transferred to Wyoming's Heart Mountain Internment Camp. When the war was over, the family came to the Treasure Valley. They joined older brothers Roy and Kaz, who had been working as farm labors during the war in Vale, OR. The family settled in the Nyssa area. The three brothers then farmed in the Nyssa area.
George married Mitsuko Harada and they raised their three children Gary, Sharmon and Michelle in Nyssa, OR. They were able to provide a life to their children they did not have growing up.
George loved to visit with friends and family. He always had a big smile and 'Hi, how are you doing?' At one time, George was active in the Potato Bargaining Association and traveled to meetings throughout the United States. When George was healthy he enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and family.
George missed Mitsuko, his wife and companion of 62 years who always raised his spirits and took very good care of him throughout all his medical challenges. In his later years, his daughters Michelle and Sharmon cared for him.
George always loved animals. He would bring home injured animals. He would take care of those injured and near death. He leaves behind his Himalayan Cat 'Sweetie' and grand bunny, 'Baby Bunny'. Both were therapeutic, helping fill his daily life with smiles, contentment, laughter and love.'
He was a member of the Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple.
He is survived by his son Gary (Marceline) of San Francisco, CA; daughters Sharmon (Rev. Dennis Fujimoto) Ontario, OR and Michelle Sadamori of Nyssa, OR; Brother Kaz Sadamori; brother in-law Shiz Harada of Fremont, CA, sister in-laws Dorothy Harada of Hillsboro, OR, Yuki Hayashi (Harry) of Fremont, CA, Sumi Kosobayashi of Minneapolis, MN and Terry Nakano (Jim) of Spokane, WA, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tagaro and Tsuyano Sadamori; sister Yoshino Sadamori; brother and sister in-law Roy and Joye Sadamori; brother Masao Sadamori; sister and brother in-law Elaine and Stan Sugiyama; and sister Elinor Sadamori.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple in Ontario, OR.
