Gerald LeRoy "Jerry" Morelock Jr.

January 27, 1955 — August 3, 2013

Gerald "Jerry" LeRoy Morelock Jr., went to be with his Redeemer, Jesus Christ, after fighting a courageous seven year battle of Multiple Myeloma. He passed away August 3, 2013, in Boise ID surrounded by his loving family. He is now pain free and dancing in heaven. Jerry was born Jan. 27, 1955, to Jerry Sr. and Carol Morelock, in Bakersfield CA. He was the eldest of five siblings, Rick, Karen, Maggie, and Jon. He spent the early childhood years in Bakersfield, and then his family moved to Idaho. Jerry grew up loving sports. He was an Allstate Lineman and Wrestler. He Graduated from Borah High school in 1973 and then went on to Boise State University, studying mathematics. Following his passion for music, he received his Bachelors in Performance Education and his Masters in Performing Arts. This lead to a teaching career of almost 35 years in the towns of Bliss ID, Winnemucca NV, Baker City OR, and Ontario OR. He met his wife to be, Danae Ann DeLaune, in 1977. They married August 4, 1978 and were blessed with 35, cherished years of marriage. Jerry and Danae had two wonderful children, Christana DeLaune Morelock (22) and Matthew Gerald Morelock (15). He was a devoted husband and father. He was a brilliant man, who pondered the stars and enjoyed the exquisiteness of Gods universe. Jerry was extremely creative and had an adventurous soul. His favorite places to be were alongside his family and friends, including his church family. He loved the mountains and that is where he chose to design and build his cabin in High Valley ID. His faith in God was his backbone and his vigor. He thoroughly understood what it meant to have a binding relationship with his Savior. Jerry loved worshiping and serving the Lord, which lead to numerous years of involvement in choirs, worship and praise teams, and helping the church body. He never hesitated to lend a hand or say a prayer for those in need. He was an inspirational man, with a servant's heart and touched countless lives in his students, friends, and family; a man so kind, compassionate, full of honor and integrity. He will be greatly missed. Jerry was preceded in death by his Father Jerry Morelock Sr. and Brother Rick Morelock. He was survived by his wife Danae, children Christana and Matthew Morelock, his Mother Carol Morelock, Sisters Karen Roe and Maggie Strickland, Brother Jon Morelock, Mother and Father-in-law Phil and Darlene Skelly, numerous nieces and nephews and a great many friends.
