Gladys Lundholm

Gladys was born on May 29, 1930 in Cody, Wyoming to Arthur Nelson and Esther Anderson Nelson. She grew up and attended schools in Cody and graduated from Cody High School. Her parents encouraged her to further her education. She graduated from Idaho State University School of Cosmetology in 1949. It was during her time at ISU that she met her husband, Carl Westlake Lundholm. They married in Pocatello, Idaho on September 8, 1949. After their marriage, Gladys and Carl spent a summer in Cody, WY and then moved to Hamer, Idaho where she lived the rest of her life. A bright and industrious woman, she not only took care of her home and family, she also helped support her family using her talents as a cosmetologist and as a typist/bookkeeper. Gladys and Carl worked side by side on their small family ranch. Together they raised three sons, Carl Jr., Duane, and Larry. Her loving and spiritual influence on her boys made them better men. Many people have expressed how much Gladys blessed their lives over the years. The love of her Savior rewarded her with spiritual growth, strength, and comfort all of her days. Gladys is survived by her three sons, Carl W. Lundholm Jr. (Mickie), Duane S. Lundholm (Ramona), and Larry Lundholm, all of Hamer, Idaho; her brother, Walter Nelson of Thermopolis, WY, 15 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Arthur Nelson and Raymond Nelson, and a grandson, Mark Lundholm. Her family would like to express their grateful appreciation for Gladys' loving caregivers: Larry Lundholm, Theresa Carson, Patricia Nick, Natasha Carson, and Ramona Lundholm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Community Church of Mud Lake, 1122 E. 1500 N. in Terreton. Burial will follow in the West Jefferson Cemetery in Terreton. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday form 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls.Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed peacefully away at her home in Hamer, Idaho on December 23, 2012 surrounded by family.
