Guadalupe Carranza

April 29, 1938 — January 20, 2021

1938 - 2021 Guadalupe Carranza, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 20, 2021, at her home in the company of her beloved family.
Guadalupe Vargas-Ceja was born April 29, 1938, in Tunguitiro, Michoacán, Mexico, to Maria de Jesus Ceja and Prajedes Vargas. She grew up and attended school in Tunguitiro. Guadalupe married Alejandro Carranza-Arteaga on September 19, 1964. Together they had three surviving daughters, Gloria, Araceli, Lourdes, and one son, Uriel.
Guadalupe and Alejandro shared the common goal of working hard so they could provide their children with the things and the opportunities they themselves never had. Thus, in the spring of 1980, they relocated the family from Mexico to the US and made their home in Idaho Falls. For many years, until the children reached adulthood, the family enjoyed working side by side in the fields.
Guadalupe had a passion and loved every aspect of agrarian life. She enjoyed gardening and picking all kinds of fruit straight from the trees. For Guadalupe, her family was her life, and her life was her family. Guadalupe took pride in being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Before her siblings passed away, Guadalupe loved going back to her hometown in Mexico and went back whenever she had an opportunity. Every time she went back, Guadalupe was be greeted with open arms and loud cheers.
Guadalupe was a member of the Roman Catholic church.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alejandro, daughter Lourdes Guzman, Uriel (Patricia)Carranza, Aracelli (Juan Carlos) Rodriguez, Gloria (Antonio) Salcido, 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons who died as babies, her siblings, and her parents.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all family and friends who have shown so much love and support during this challenging moment.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Guadalupe's name to the local community food Bank of Idaho Falls.
