Harold James Hall

Harold James (Jim) Hall, 77 of Idaho Falls died of a stroke on December 27, 2011 at Eastern Idaho Medical Center. Jim was born on July 26th, 1934 in Jamestown, New York, as the first of three sons of Harold Hall and Gertrude Hyde.

Jim graduated from Jamestown High School in 1952 and enlisted in the Army, where he served in Ordnance Specialist at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, from 1953 to 1955. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1955. Jim married Nancy Jane Field Hall on July, 1956, in Jamestown, New York. Jim and Nancy moved to Idaho Falls in 1963, where he worked as a machinist for the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory. As an avid outdoorsman, Jim was an active hunter, fisherman, trapper, taxidermist and gunsmith. Jim was an active volunteer for the Idaho Hunter's Safety Course sponsored by the Idaho Fish and Game Department. He was also an active member of both Eagle Rock Baptist and Alliance Covenant Churches. Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy, two brothers, Donald Hall of West Bloomfield, Michigan, and Michael Hall of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his four sons; Kevin Hall of Inkom; Larry, Christopher, & Phillip of Idaho Falls. Jim also has 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his father Harold in 1984 and his mother, Gertrude, in 1972. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3rd, at Christ Community Church, located at 5742 South 5th West, Idaho Falls, ID, 83404. Burial will follow at the New Sweden Cemetery at 35 West, 45 South, in Idaho Falls. A viewing will also be available from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service for those who wish to pay their respects. Memorial Contributions can be made to the National Rifle Association or the Idaho Fish and Game Education fund.
