Hazel Lavina Kuhlman

September 20, 1930 — January 25, 2013

Hazel L. Kuhlman, 82, of Payette, our sweet Mother, Wife, grandmother, and friend, went to sing with the angels Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at her home in Payette. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday January 30, 2013 at Shaffer- Jensen Memory Chapel in New Plymouth. Services conducted by the Christian Science Church in Payette. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth, ID. Condolences may be made to www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Hazel was born in Caldwell ID on 9/20/1930 to Nora and James Sparks.
She spent her early childhood years in Roswell ID where she attended elementary school, and later moved with her parents to Caldwell, ID where she attended Caldwell High School. On May 19, 1947 she married Quentin Squibb, and to this union six children were born, Janis (Archie) Mesa, David (Dorothea) Squibb, Judy Franklin, Dwaine Squibb, Jeanne (Garren) Taylor, Danny (Rachelle) Squibb. Hazel and Quentin were later divorced.
Hazel married Harold Kuhlman on March 17, 1979 in Elko, Nevada. Harold brought to the marriage three children, Fritz Kuhlman, Lilly Kuhlman, and Lisa (Brian) Wood.
Hazel was very active in the Christian Science Church in Payette, ID, where she acted as church usher and part time reader, as well as performing many other duties. She formed great friendships and her church brought her many years of happiness and was a large part of her life. Hazel worked at the Presbyterian Nursing home from 1981 until her retirement in 1993. Her loving nature brought great comfort to many of the patients as well as their families. Hazel enjoyed a special friendship with Bonnie Hedrick who provided much love and support. She enjoyed many years of volunteering at the SRCI.
She loved studying from her spiritual books, and finding a yard sale "along the way" to wherever her travels were taking her.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Harold and all of her children. She loved spending time with her 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and her five siblings. Waiting for her with open arms is her granddaughter Jessica, and her grandson Albert.
