Our much-loved Mom, Grandma, sister, and aunt, Inez (Peggy) R. Crowe Renz, passed away in her sleep on August 20, 2023 at the age of 84. Mom was born on January 1, 1939 in Arco, Idaho to Gerald Martin Crowe and Dorothy Italy Puckett Crowe and spent much of her youth in Idaho and Washington. For her ninth birthday, instead of getting the horse she wanted, she got her little sister, Linda, whom she loved and adored for all of her years. Mom spent her teen years in Spokane Valley, met and married her high school sweetheart, Fred R. Renz. Together they raised four children, moved multiple times following Fred’s job, and ultimately ended up back in the Valley farming. She loved driving the grain truck beside the combines while they dumped their load during harvest and also baling hay. They finally divorced and Mom spent some time on Whidbey Island with her sister. Mom eventually moved to Idaho Falls to be closer to her daughters, Laurie and Theresa.
Mom loved the ocean more than anything and frequently talked about her trips to Cannon Beach and Manzanita with her sister, Linda and niece, Jody. When asked what she wanted to eat not long before she passed, she said she wanted to go to that “small town just north of the Washington/Oregon border where there was a store with a concrete tank with crab in it.” (We never did establish exactly where that was.) She enjoyed farming, golfing, crocheting, and cross-stitching.
If we were going to have a headstone, it would read "I'll do it myself!" which was her answer to most questions about giving her help!
She is survived by her sister, Linda Crowe; niece, Jody Crowe; daughters, Laurie Renz Woodard and Theresa G. Carson (Larry); grandchildren, Jeremy, Stephanie, Heather, Danielle, Chelsie, Trevor, Jessica, Natasha and Aimee; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents; beloved sons, Daniel M. Renz and Thomas R. Renz, and her baby grandson, Jacob Woodard.
Our family wants to thank Tambree Meadows Assisted Living and all their staff for the wonderful care they gave to Mom and also to Aspen Home Health and Hospice for their care.
Mom insisted on no services; however, we'll go behind her back to have a private family memorial (pending).
